Brian is doing very well with his rehab and is definitely anxious to get the discharge papers and get on out! Each day shows improvement and we are still amazed by his progress. We are so fortunate that Brian is young, healthy and strong (and determined). We do however, feel that the power of prayer has been the driving force of this miracle. Thank you all again for your prayers, and I just can't thank you enough.
The night before we left for Colorado, Dr. Larson (Jeff) took us out to Capones in Coeur d'Alene to "test drive" Brian. We had such a wonderful time with everyone that came to see Brian on his last night in Idaho. We have to admit that we really miss you all. Although Spalding Rehab is a nice place, it's not Koontenai and we wish we could have continued Brian's rehab there...it was just too far away from our home. You are all now stuck with us, as we will never lose touch :)
We have still been pretty busy with all of Brian's therapies throughout the day. He gets an hour of physical therapy, an hour of occupational therapy, and an hour of speech therapy. Fortunately, we are able to get Brian out of Spalding on a "day pass" each day. They can last as long as 4 hours, so we went for dinner last night, and made a trip to Target today so that we could get a few things together. One of them being Rowan's birthday present as she turns 1 on May 1st. Brian will be out of Spalding by then and we are working on a plan for her party at my brother's house (it is also his birthday).
I will update when we have the definite news of Brian's discharge and will continue to thank you all as we continue to heal.
Love to all,
Sarah

This is awesome awesome news, Sarah. Isn't it funny how the little things (like going out to dinner and going to Target) are little mini-miracles? So good to see that you're out having run - together.
ReplyDeleteKnow that everyone is STILL praying!
We are so glad to hear you are doing so well Brian, I know you guys are happy to be in Colorado. You are both amazingly strong people. We are the lucky ones to have people like you in our lives! Love you guys, we'll see you soon!

So great to know that you are all doing so well! I just had to let you all know that Brian's story was the front page of our local paper today. We all miss you and we will be celebrating May 1st with you only from a short distance. Best of everything to you all.
